Bishkek, Dec. 14, 2022 / Kabar/. Today is a historic day. The Kyrgyz Republic, which is one of the landlockedstates in the world, gets access to the sea. This is a big leap forward. The signed agreements will not only give a powerful impetus to the development of bilateral Kyrgyz-Emirati relations, but also help our country make a powerful economic breakthrough, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov told during the solemn ceremony of signing the Agreements with the largest companies AD Ports Group and Maqta Gateway.

2 main documents were signed within the framework of the development of trade and strengthening of economic ties with the United Arab Emirates.

The decision to sign these agreements was made during the working visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic to the United Arab Emirates following negotiations with the top leadership of the UAE.

Thus, in accordance with the first Agreement, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic signed a document with AD Ports Group, under which the Emirati company allocated more than 300,000 sq. m. m of land in the free economic zone KEZAD - (Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), located in close proximity to the most modern port in the region - Khalifa Port Abu Dhabi (Khalifa Port), for the development and operation of the logistics center and customs zone.

In accordance with the second Agreement, Maqta Gateway initiates a strategy for the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic to modernize and digitalize customs and border control, infrastructure, including through the creation of a national single window.

It is worth noting that Maqta Gateway has extensive experience in this area, as it is the developer and manager of an advanced trading platform, an innovative one-stop shop designed to integrate trade and logistics services in Abu Dhabi, including maritime, land, air , industrial and free zones.

“The signing of these agreements will underline the leading position that AD Ports Group holds in such sectors as the management of free economic zones and the digitalization of the sector, and will be an important step in strengthening relations between our countries. Following the economic development plan of our wise government, we continue to develop in other regions and consider Central Asia as a strategically important direction for the development of AD Ports Group. We thank the government of Kyrgyzstan for the trust placed in us, and look forward to fruitful cooperation on digitalization, improving the development of international relations,” said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and General Director of the AD Ports Group.

General Director of the Cluster of Free Economic Zones “AD Ports Group” Abdulla al-Khameli expressed hope that the Agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic will be the beginning of a new chapter in relations between the two countries.

In turn, the Executive Director of Maqta Gateway Noura Al Dhaheri stressed that it would be a great honor for the company to work together with the government of Kyrgyzstan on the development of integrated solutions for customs and border management, as well as a national "single window" for the integration of trade and logistics services.
