Bishkek, Nov.12, 2024. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Temirbek Erkinov met Ambassador of Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan Hassan Ali Zaigam.
In the course of the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the whole range of Kyrgyz-Pakistani cooperation, as well as discussed cooperation issues within the framework of international organizations such as the UN and the SCO, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
The sides appreciated the fact that Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan share common interests on issues of regional stability, security and economic growth, and emphasized the significant potential of the two countries for deeper cooperation.
Noting with satisfaction the bilateral meetings held between Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, as well as Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif, within the framework of the Kyrgyz delegation's stay in Islamabad to participate in the SCO Heads of Government Council meeting on Oct.15-16, 2024, the parties discussed further concrete steps to implement the agreements reached during these meetings.
In particular, Erkinov and Zaigam reviewed topical issues of bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade and investment expansion, tourism, trade and logistics routes, cooperation in such sectors as agriculture, textile and pharmaceutical industries, as well as cooperation in the energy sector.
The sides paid special attention to the activities of the Kyrgyz-Pakistani intergovernmental commission and discussed the dates of its next meeting.
In light of the ongoing efforts to strengthen interstate ties, the sides also discussed the development of cooperation in education and cultural and humanitarian exchange.
