Total number of novel coronavirus cases climbs to 39,000 in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Aug. 24, 2020. /Kabar/. In Uzbekistan, total number of COVID-19 cases has reached 38 thousand 946 on Monday.

According to the press service of the republic’s Health Ministry, 248 new cases were identified over the past 24 hours, as well as 411 recoveries and 8 fatalities.

Gradual easing of quarantine requirements started in the country on Aug. 15.

Public transport, including the metro, as well as air, car and rail links between regions have been resumed in Tashkent. Requirements have been set for the resumption of various activities, as well as restrictions that will continue to apply.

The mode of "red", "yellow" and "green" zones has been reintroduced. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev demanded that strict discipline should remain the paramount rule for everyone.

A total of 34 thousand 987 (89 %) patients have recovered from the coronavirus since the first case were confirmed on March 15. Death toll stands at 275.

Currently, 3 thousand 686 Uzbekistanis are receiving treatment.
