Bishkek, May 3, 2021. / Kabar /. Total number of coronavirus vaccine jabs administered across Kyrgyzstan had reached 30,355, head of the republican scientific and practical center for the control of viral infections Zuridin Nurmatov told at a press conference.
He added that1,362 of the total number have already received the second shot of the vaccine.
Most vaccinations are currently taking place in Bishkek city, Osh and Jalal-Abad Oblasts.
“Currently, they are mainly vaccinated with the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine. Vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine. Many countries with a large population are vaccinated with this particular vaccine; today, more than 270 million citizens have been vaccinated in China itself,” he said.
In addition, Nurmatov noted that on April 22, the first batch of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in the amount of 20 thousand doses was delivered to Bishkek.
“However, given that the vaccination is carried out in two stages, 10 thousand Kyrgyzstanis will be vaccinated in total. In this regard, the vaccination with the Sputnik V vaccine is carried out only for citizens over 65 years of age and suffering from chronic diseases,” explained Zuridin Nurmatov.
Kyrgyzstan has started COVID-19 vaccination campaign on March 29.
