Bishkek, Jan.15, 2020. /Kabar/. The number of tourists from South Korea in 2019 made 16 thousand 54 people, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said citing Director of the country's Department of Tourism Maksat Damir uulu.
According to the report, Road Show took place in the Republic Korea on Jan. 13, 2020. The event was organized by the Kyrgyz Embassy in Korea together with the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan.
In her welcoming speech, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the South Korea Dinara Kemelova drew attention to the growth of foreign tourists, and called on travel companies of Kyrgyzstan and Korea to make Kyrgyzstan a popular tourist destination among Korean tourists.
President of the Korea World Travel Fair (KOTFA) Kang-Sup Park, noting the expediency of the first phase of the launch of charter flights between Kyrgyzstan and South Korea, expressed the hope that such events as the Road Show will bring Korea and Kyrgyzstan closer together and expand tourism exchanges between the two countries.
The forum was attended by leading Korean tour operators and representatives of such travel companies from Kyrgyzstan as Ak-Sai Travel, Asia Expeditions, East West travel, C.A.T. Company, Travel Land Kyrgyzstan, NoviNomad, Best Way and Ryan Tour.
In total, more than 70 representatives of tourism and other companies from the Republic of Korea and the South Korean media participated in it.
"Representatives of Kyrgyz tour companies presented their companies and services in tourism.
A video presentation of tourism and tourist facilities of Kyrgyzstan, a concert with Kyrgyz folk dances, B2B meetings between the companies of the two countries, as well as a buffet with Kyrgyz national dishes, sweets and drinks were organized as part of the road show.
Besides, the director of the Tourism Department of the Kyrgyz Republic held a number of bilateral meetings, including with KOTFA President Kang-Sup Park, representatives of Lotte Corporation and other companies," the report said.
