Tashkent, Aug.14, 2019. /Kabar/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved the creation of a transport corridor from Xonobod, a city bordering Kyrgyzstan in Andijan Region, to Karakalpakstan, Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov said during the press conference in Tashkent.
The highway will run from Xonobod to Muynak city in Karakalpakstan, with a branch to Termez in Surxondaryo Region. The project involves developing roadside infrastructure and organizing tourism services along the highways.
“Identification of road segments subject to capital and current repairs, as well as determining the location of roadside infrastructure objects is instructed,” the head of the working group for the implementation of this project, the deputy prime minister Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
The Group has also obtained the right to assist entrepreneurs in going through permitting procedures for organizing business activities, related to the development of roadside infrastructure (land acquisition, obtaining construction permits).
In addition, the group will supervise the execution of orders by the relevant state bodies to address problematic issues within their competence (installation of road signs, construction of sanitary and hygienic facilities, etc.).
