Trade and logistics center to be build in Kochkor

Bishkek, May 29, 2018. / Kabar /. Trade and logistics center will be built in Kochkor region of Naryn oblast for storing and selling potatoes. A pilot project to promote agricultural logistics will be implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of Kyrgyzstan with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)

The corresponding project was signed by the representatives of JICA, the Ministry of Agriculture, the plenipotentiary representation of the government in Naryn oblast, the head of the Kochkor ayl okmotu, the Kochkor logistics agricultural cooperative, and the Logistics Association of Producers.

The main goal of the project is implementation, and in case of its successful completion, it is planned to develop a business model of a trade and logistics center, which will be extended to the territory of the whole of Kyrgyzstan.

It is expected that the trade and logistics center will help farmers in Kochkor region to increase their revenues from the sale of potatoes, consolidate the supply of farmers to large lots, will provide cleaning, storage, sorting and packaging services for sale.

Minister of Agriculture Nurbek Murashev said that supporting regional trade and facilitating the promotion of goods through internal corridors through the modernization of logistics capabilities will help farmers, gain guaranteed sale of their products, and contribute to the development of regions and cooperation of Kyrgyzstan.
