Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan amounts to almost $600 mln

Bishkek, Oct 21, 2024. /Kabar/. Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan for January-September 2024 amounted to USD 587.5 million, of which exports from the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to USD 403 million, and imports from the Kyrgyz Republic – USD 185 million, according to data published on the website of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For the same period last year, trade turnover amounted to USD 753.8 million, including USD 537 million in exports from the Republic of Uzbekistan and USD 216.3 million in imports from the Kyrgyz Republic.

Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover for the past period of this year reached USD 48.2 billion, which is USD 3.5 billion or 7.7% more compared to the same period last year. Uzbekistan's exports increased by 11.5%, amounting to USD 19.7 billion. Imports also showed an increase of 5.2%, reaching USD 28.4 billion.

Today, Uzbekistan has trade relations with 190 countries. The largest volume of foreign trade turnover was recorded with China (18.7%), Russia (18.0%), Kazakhstan (6.2%), Turkey (4.5%) and the Republic of Korea (3.1%).

Recall that during the state visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Uzbekistan on July 18-19, 2024, the leaders of the two countries outlined the goal of increasing trade turnover to USD 2 billion.
