Bishkek, Feb. 7, 2019. / Kabar /. In the period from 2014 to 2017, the trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan with Uzbekistan increased 1.4 times. The export of Kyrgyz products to Uzbekistan grew by 25.4%. The volume of imported products from Uzbekistan increased 1.6 times, the press service of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to data of the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to the results of 11 months of 2018 (January-November), the total trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan with Uzbekistan increased by 10.0% compared to the same period in 2017 and amounted to $ 309.4 million. Kyrgyz exports to Uzbekistan increased by 10.1% and amounted to $ 147.0 million, while imports increased by 10% and amounted to $ 162.4 million.
The commodity structure of Kyrgyz exports to Uzbekistan is mainly represented by industrial goods. For the period from January to November 2018, exports to Uzbekistan increased due to the growth in the supply of fuel and energy resources: coal, oil products by 32.5%, cement by 5.2 times, glass and products from it by 96.5%, organic chemicals compounds 3.3 times, stone and cement products by 92.4%, etc.
In the structure of Kyrgyz imports from Uzbekistan, agricultural products account for more than 28%, textiles and clothing - 18% , plastic products - 8.7%, fertilizers - 12%.
For 11 months of 2018, there was an increase in deliveries of vegetables from Uzbekistan (20.0%), fruits ( 69.1%), plastics and products from them (23.2%), and knitted fabrics ( 19.3%) , products from aluminum (82.9%), products from copper (7%), paper and cardboard (2 times), products from ferrous metals ( 35.1%), finished products from grain and flour (in 2.3 times), oilseeds ( 82.6%), machinery and equipment ( 12%).
Cooperation was intensified, both between the relevant government agencies and between the business community of the two countries. In 2018, deliveries of meat products from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan also began. Cheese deliveries to Uzbekistan increased more than 90 times.
