Traditional informal meeting of CIS leaders takes place in St. Petersburg

Bishkek, Dec. 28, 2021. / Kabar /. A traditional informal meeting of the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States took place in St. Petersburg, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin, who initiated the event, greeted the participants, noting that the past years have shown the justification for the creation of the CIS, within which integration between countries is deepening in various directions. He said that, at the present time, this gives the CIS countries an advantage in overcoming the difficulties associated with the coronavirus infection pandemic, even better than in many other countries of the world.

Anna Popova, the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Russia, presented a report on biological safety in the CIS.

The leaders of the countries exchanged views on joint activities to overcome the disease, expressed their views and proposals.

The informal summit was attended by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikola Pashinyan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
