Traditional Music Week to start in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 19, 2022. / Kabar /. Traditional Music Week will take place in Kyrgyzstan on April 20-25, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of the republic Azamat Zhamankulov said during a press conference at Kabar News Agency.

He added that the week of traditional music is timed to celebrate the Day of Traditional Music - April 25.

"The Traditional Music Day is celebrated for 18th year in a row and has become a good tradition, a celebration of the keepers of oral and professional music. The purpose of the week is to preserve, improve and develop traditional music, layers of oral and professional music in folklore and oral tradition in the era of globalization," the minister said.

In addition, Zhamankulov pointed out that the events of the week will include cultural and scientific events, where historical, cultural, philosophical, social and other aspects of traditional music art, storytelling, instrumental, vocal and instrumental directions of traditional music art in dance, cinema, museum art, literature, theater, crafts, etc. will be discussed.

Guests and participants of the Traditional Music Week will include scientists, scholars, artists, educators, researchers, performers and preservers of oral and traditional culture from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Tajikistan, Altai Republic, Republic of Tyva, Republic of Khakassia, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Hungary and other countries.

The events of the week will be held online and offline. Based on the results of the week's work, resolutions will be adopted and a collection of materials will be published.
