Training center opened in Karakol for participants of One Village - One Product project

Bishkek, Oct. 17, 2022. /Kabar/. A production and training center was opened in Kyrgyzstan’s Karakol city for participants of the One Village, One Product project, the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The center will host trainings for project representatives from other regions of Kyrgyzstan, and for producers in the Issyk-Kul region, it will become a permanent platform for improving entrepreneurial skills.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Ainura Usenbekova, JICA Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Ando Tahekiro and Chargé d'Affaires of Japan in the Kyrgyz Republic Okawa Soichiro, as well as First Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in Issyk-Kul Oblast Ulanbek Daliev and local manufacturers.

One Village - One Product project is being implemented in Kyrgyzstan with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Within its framework, the production of handicrafts and products, such as jam from wild berries, traditional healing soap shakar, handmade felt products, was launched. Products prepared under this project are sold in Japan in major Muji stores. The labels indicate that the goods are manufactured in Kyrgyzstan.
