Bishkek, Oct.2, 2019. /Kabar/. Training sessions on “Improving the activities of the National Center for Prevention of Torture in conducting preventive visits to institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Service for Punishments Execution" took place in Tokmok, Chui Oblast.
The purpose of the training session was to deepen theoretical knowledge on existing international standards, relating to the right to freedom from torture and ill-treatment, to develop the skills necessary to effectively combat torture, to obtain the necessary knowledge on criminal justice issues, and so on.
Employees of the National Center for Prevention of Torture from all oblasts of Kyrgyzstan attended the training.
Deputy Director of the National Center for Prevention of Torture of the Kyrgyz Republic Dinara Sayakova, and Director of the Center for Judicial Representation of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, lawyer Ayaz Bayetov acted as trainers.
This training is implemented within the framework of the Supporting the initiatives of the state and civil society to prevent torture and ill-treatment in closed institutions of Kyrgyzstan project, implemented by the Penal Reform International (PRI) office in the Kyrgyz Republic with the financial support of the British Embassy in Bishkek.
