Training sewing workshop for children with disabilities to appear in Bishkek

Bishkek, Aug.6, 2019. /Kabar/. The construction of a sewing workshop for children with disabilities is being completed, the press service of the Bishkek Mayor’s Office said.

A construction company, selected by tender, erected a workshop building on the territory of the city rehabilitation center for people with disabilities.

The finishing work is now being completed. Furniture and sewing machines will be delivered after the repair. The total cost of the project, including construction and equipment, amounted to KGS 2 million 400 thousand. The project is being financed from the city budget with the support of deputies of the Bishkek City Council.

“In conjunction with the acquisition of new skills such as beading, sewing bags and pillowcases, children will develop fine motor skills, which is very important in the process of their rehabilitation and socialization,” the report said.

There are 10 thousand 920 citizens with disabilities in Bishkek, 580 of whom are registered in the city's rehabilitation center for people with disabilities.
