Travel companies of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan strengthen bilateral cooperation

Bishkek, Feb. 26, 2024. /Kabar/. Representatives of leading tourism companies of Kyrgyzstan in Osh and Andijan region of Uzbekistan discussed issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the city of Osh, the Dunyo news agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.

During the event, an exchange of views took place on issues of strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism, broad promotion of the tourism potential of the two neighboring countries, and establishing mutual tourist exchange.

Particular attention was paid to the increase in the flow of foreign tourists, as well as existing problems in the tourism sector.

According to the head of the Department of External Relations and Analysis of the Osh Mayor’s Office, Mirlan Israilov, Kyrgyz-Uzbek friendship has a deep history. “Our religion, language, customs are also common. Currently, cooperation between our countries is rising to a higher level not only in the socio-political, trade, economic and cultural spheres, but also in the field of tourism,” he noted.

The head of the Kyrgyz Association of Tourism of the Southern Regions, tourism adviser to the governor of the Osh region, Abdukadir Aliyev, said that close cooperative relationships have currently been established with approximately 25 travel agencies in the regions of Uzbekistan.

“Kyrgyz tourists are very interested in the historical and cultural heritage of your country, and Uzbeks love mountain tourism. Over the past three years, our cooperation has become more active,” he added.

Director of the travel company Eco Haus Resort Abdurasul Akmatov believes that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have been developing rapidly in recent years. “Growth is observed not only in the economic sphere, but also in tourism. We are ready to strengthen relations with Uzbek travel companies and increase the flow of tourists to your country. I am very pleased to take part in today’s important dialogue,” he said.

As part of the meeting, B2B negotiations between tour operators were organized. As a result, agreements were reached on specific areas of mutual cooperation and increasing the tourist flow.
