Tribute Paid to Memory of Kyrgyz Minister of Culture Sultan Zhumagulov in TURKSOY

Bishkek, Oct. 10 2018. /Kabar/. In the building of the General Secretariat of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), tribute was paid to the memory of Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Zhumagulov, who passed away on October 8, 2018.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary General of TURKSOY, Ambassador Dusen Kaseinov and the organization’s personnel.

In the foyer of the General Secretariat of TURKSOY a corner with wreaths was set up dedicated to the memory of Zhumagulov. During the ceremony, Dusen Kaeinov noted that Sultan Zhumagulov attached special importance to the integration of the Turkic world and provided full support to the activities of TYURKSOY. As a member of the TURKSOY Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture, Zhumagulov at his post actively participated in the work of the International Organization of Turkic Culture, and sought in every way to worthily promote the culture of the Kyrgyz people at the international level.

Kaseinov also stressed that Zhumagulov’s great merit is in the dedication of 2018 to the memory of great Kyrgyz writer, state and public figure, eminent diplomat Chyngyz Aitmatov, as well as in the preparation and holding of the event as part of the Year of the world-famous son of the Kyrgyz people declared by TURKSOY.

Kaseinov expressed his condolences to the brotherly Kyrgyz people, who suffered a great and irreparable loss, and assured that the bright name of Sultan Zhumagulov will forever remain in the heart of the Turkic world.

Deputy General Secretary of TYURKSOY, Prof. Fırat Purtaş, pronounced ayahs from the Quran for the repose of the deceased's soul and a collective prayer was performed.
