In Kyrgyzstan, at the end of 2022, after a sharp decrease in the incidence during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2021), there is a slight increase in the number of newly diagnosed patients with tuberculosis (including the penitentiary system of the Kyrgyz Republic), according to the National Center for Phthisiology of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to data, in 2022, 4 thousand 18 newly diagnosed patients with tuberculosis were registered in the republic, in 2021 - 3 thousand 891, in 2020 - 3 thousand 518.
The highest incidence rate, as before, remains in the Chui region, the lowest in the Issyk-Kul region, the report said.
At the end of 2022, the increase in the incidence among children slightly increased, and among adolescents it decreased.
In turn, there were fewer deaths from tuberculosis in the country at the end of 2022. In total, 174 deaths from tuberculosis were registered in 2022, 257 cases in 2021, and 259 in 2020.
