Bishkek, Apr. 2, 2019. /Kabar/. Alykul Osmonov National Library of Kyrgyzstan hosted an event “Reading a Book”, which was organized jointly with the Representative Office for Culture and Information of the Turkish Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The event was held as part of the Book Week in the library, the press service of the library reported.
Ambassador of Turkey to the Kyrgyz Republic Cengiz Fırat and Head of the Representative Office for Culture and Information Nuri Şimşekler addressed the participants. They noted that “the books contain vast experience and knowledge of other people, and reading literature can change lives, because it affects the human self-development.” Nuri Şimşekler also stressed that the books contain answers to many questions, and it is the books that give an opportunity to get new skills, they teach to do what is right in this or that situation. “Reading a Book” is a holiday for all who read and love books. The participant of the event, son of great Kyrgyz writer Aitmatov Eldar Aitmatov presented the library a book of his father “Legends and Fairy Tales”.
After the official part of the event, those present went to the reading room and were able to enjoy reading their favorite books. Everyone could take the book that he/she wanted to read.
The event was also attended by head of the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Administration (TIKA) Ali Muslu, diplomats, students of Manas University, students of a school of Bishkek.
