Turkish business community is interested in investing in Kyrgyzstan - investment minister

Bishkek, June 11, 2021 . / Kabar / . "A wide range of Turkish business community is interested in investing in Kyrgyzstan," Minister of Investment of Kyrgyzstan Almambet Shykmamatov said commenting on the results of the official visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkey.

According to him, such areas as light industry, agriculture, logistics, infrastructure projects and hydropower are of interest to Turkish investors.

As part of the official visit of Sadyr Zhaparov to Turkey, a meeting was held with the Turkish business community at the site of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in Ankara.

The investment minister noted the meeting resulted in signing of 5 agreements, according to which the system similar to the Turkish model of industrial zone Ostim will be deployed and implemented in Bishkek.

Almambet Shykmamatov added a group of experts from Turkish companies will soon arrive in Bishkek to study the investment potential of the country.

"They should prepare a certificate within a month after the study and provide it to representatives of large business in Turkey. After that, big business according to this reference will already really invest in the sectors they are interested in," concluded the minister of investment.
