Bishkek, March 17, 2023. / Kabar /. Since February of this year, Turkmenistan has resumed the supply of electricity to Kyrgyzstan, says in the bulletin of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic on foreign and mutual trade.
Turkmenistan was not included in the report for January. In February, Kyrgyzstan purchased 62 million 50 thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity from Turkmenistan. The total cost amounted to 161 million 580.7 thousand soms - 2.6 soms per 1 kilowatt-hour.
In January-February, 224 million 456.2 thousand kilowatt-hours were imported from Kazakhstan. The total cost of purchased electricity amounted to 577 million 34.4 thousand soms - 2.57 soms per 1 kilowatt-hour.
In total, in the specified period, Kyrgyzstan imported 286 million 506.2 thousand kilowatt-hours, which is 1.56 times less than in January-February last year.
In January 2023, electricity was not imported from Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan reported that electricity supplies were temporarily suspended amid the energy crisis in Uzbekistan.
