Turnout at parliamentary elections abroad was 11.67%, Kyrgyz MFA

Bishkek, Nov. 29, 2021 . / Kabar /. According to preliminary estimates, 9,826 or 11.67% of Kyrgyzstanis voted in the parliamentary elections abroad.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that a total of 84,128 Kyrgyz citizens abroad voted in the elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh.

59 polling stations were established abroad in 29 foreign countries, including 10 new polling stations in the following cities:

1)Russia- the cities of Khabarovsk, Krasnodar, Tomsk, Kazan, and Samara.

2) Turkey - the city of Antalya.

3) United States of America - New York and Chicago.

4) Italy - Cagliari (island of Sardinia).

5) Hungary - Budapest.

Taking into account the epidemiological situation in some countries, as well as in view of sanitary and quarantine restrictions, the return delivery of the results of votes and election documents and equipment to the Kyrgyz Republic is expected in the coming days.

The parliamentary elections were held in Kyrgyzstan to elect 90 deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh by using a mixed electoral system. 54 deputies are to be elected according to the proportional system in single electoral constituencies, while 36 deputies are to be elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.

According to data of the automatically reading ballot, six parties have overcome 5 % barrier - Butun Kyrgyzstan (6.71 %), Alliance (8.12%), Yiman Nuru (5.98 %), Yntymak (10.73 %), Ishenim (13.43 %), Ata-Zhurt Kyrgyzstan (16.83 %).
