Two candidates running for post of Kyrgyz Parliament speaker

Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2021 . / Kabar /. At the first session of the new 7th convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh deputies began the procedure of electing a speaker of the parliament.

Talant Mamytov, a deputy from Yntymak faction, and Adakhan Madumarov, the leader of Butun Kyrgyzstan faction, are contenders for the post of speaker.

On Dec. 28, elected deputies of the new VII convocation of the Kyrgyz Parliament took the oath.

At the ceremony, head of the Central Election Commission Nurzhan Shaildabekova presented the MPs with a certificate and a badge.

The parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan were held on Nov. 28 through a mixed electoral system, with 54 members of the 90-member parliament elected according to a proportional system from political parties, and 36 others elected from single-mandate constituencies on a majority basis.
