Two earthquakes registered in south of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Jan.13, 2025. /Kabar/. Two earthquakes were registered in the south of Kyrgyzstan on Jan.12.

The Institute of Seismology reported that an earthquake with intensity of about 3 was registered at 11:52 a.m. The origin was located in 3 km to the south from Kara-Zhygach village, in 7 km to the north-west from Irek village, in 10 km to the south from Kurbu-Tash and Tuz-Bel villages.

In the settlements, intensity of this earthquake was: in Kara-Zhygach village - about 3 MSK, in Irek, Kurbu-Tash, Tuz-Bel villages - 2,5 MSK.

The second earthquake was registered at 11:36 p.m. with intensity of 3 at epicenter.

Focal point of this earthquake was located at 3 km to the South from Kyrgyzstan village, 5 km to the North from Kalta village, 5 km to the South from Changet village, 7 km to the North from Nichke-Sai village, 26 km to the South from Jalal-Abad.

In populated areas intensity of this earthquake was: in villages Kyrgyzstan, Djide, Kalta, Changet - 3 MSK, in villages Nichke-Sai, Ak-Terek - 2,5 MSK.
