Two Kyrgyz were on board of Turkish plane’s crash-landing, Foreign Ministry

Bishkek, Feb.6, 2020. /Kabar/. A Boeing 737-800 plane of Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines, en route from Izmir to Istanbul, crash-landed at the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport on Wednesday. The aircraft skidded off the runway, split in three and caught fire.

The plane suffered significant damage during the landing. There were 177 passengers and 6 crew members aboard the plane, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported Thurdsay.

According to official information of the authorities, more than 130 passengers were injured, including 2 Kyrgyz citizens who are now provided with necessary medical care in state medical hospitals in Istanbul.

Employees of Kyrgyzstan’s Consulate General in Istanbul visited Kyrgyzstanis, and got acquainted with their health condition. According to the doctors treating them, the condition of the victims is stable.

The affected citizens will be under medical supervision for 24 hours, and then the issue of their further stay in the hospital or discharge are to be determined.

The Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic keeps the matter under control.

According to the latest data of Turkey’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, the number of deaths during a hard landing of the aircraft at the Sabiha Gökçen International Airport increased to three people, 179 were injured.
