Two Kyrgyzstanis taken hostage for ransom in Moscow

Bishkek, Jan.15, 2025. /Kabar/. Two Kyrgyzstanis were taken hostage for ransom in Moscow. The information was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

On Jan. 8, 2025, unknown persons approached two 17-years-old citizens of Kyrgyzstan in a cafe near the Kuzminki metro station.

According to a number of Russian media, they asked Kyrgyzstanis for help and to push the stalled car.

However, when they approached the car, the strangers forcibly put the Kyrgyzstanis into the car, taking away their documents and cell phones. After that, they brought the abductees to the Khoroshyovo-Mnyovniki district, where, using physical force and threatening to kill them, they demanded RUB 200 thousand.

Three suspects were identified and detained in the course of investigative and operational activities.

According to the Main Investigative Directorate for Moscow of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, a criminal case was opened under Articles 126 (“Kidnapping”) and 163 (“Extortion”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The Kuzminsky District Court of Moscow elected a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for two months for all three defendants.

At present, all necessary investigative and operational measures are being carried out, their involvement in similar crimes is being checked and established.
