Bishkek, Mar. 27, 2019. /Kabar/. The Rectors of the Kyrgyz National University (KNU) and Moscow State University (MSU) are to sign an updated Memorandum of Cooperation in Bishkek.
The agreement will be signed within the framework of the First Forum of Rectors of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, which is taking place at Ala-Archa state residence with the participation of President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov.
Rector of the KNU Kanat Sydykov told the Kabar News Agency that the updated cooperation document is long-term and is a requirement of today.
“We have had an agreement with Moscow State University since 2 000, but since that time Moscow State University has become a university almost autonomous with the right to approve its own educational standards, independently conduct theses defense. In addition, this university is now among 100 leading universities in the world; therefore, the potential that is available should be continued,” Sydykov said.
The memorandum, as explained by the KNU Rector, includes details of the implementation of the cooperation agreement. It says that the Kyrgyz university can introduce a double degree program. This, in turn, requires very thorough preparation, in connection with which it is planned to create a special interaction center for the two universities.
In addition, he also said that during the forum other documents will be signed that will open ways for sharing experience in providing the labor market with qualified personnel.
