Two men drowned in Issyk-Kul over past 24 hours

Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2020. /Kabar/. Two citizens drowned in Issyk-Kul over the past 24 hours, the press service of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations reported Friday.

A guy, 19, drowned in the lake on Aug. 13 at about 3:58 p.m. in the town of Cholpon-Ata. The rescuers who arrived at the site pulled out the body and handed it over to the police.

Also in Ak-Suu region of Issyk-Kul Oblast, another 33-year-old man fell into the Karakol River gorge the same day at about 8:46 p.m. Rescuers were involved in the search. The search continues today, Aug. 14.
