Kyrgyzstan’s two more medals at Asian karate championship in Uzbekistan

Bishkek, July 25, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz athletes won two medals at the Asian karate championship in Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports said.

The tournament was held on 17-21 July in Tashkent. The country was represented by 15 athletes under the guidance of two trainers.

Following the results of the competition Kyrgyzstan has two awards in the Kumite program. Of these, one is silver and one is bronze.

Rafael Akbarov won the silver medal. The national athlete advanced to the finals. In the decisive fight Rafael met with Uzbek athlete Sadriddin Saimatov. This fight ended with a score of 6-2 in favor of the representative of Uzbekistan. Thus, Akbarov became third in the weight category of 60kg.

Female athlete Kymbat Toitonova performed in weight up to 61 kg and became the third on the podium.

Alisher Sayakbayev (55 kg) and Adilet Shadykanov (+84 kg) lost the bronze medal and became the fifth in their weight categories.
