Two Parliament Committees found Kyrgyz Government's report for 2019 satisfactory

Bishkek, May 12, 2020. /Kabar/. Today, May 12, the Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction and the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial and Legal Issues and Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament) recognized Prime Minister's report on the work of the Government for 2019 as satisfactory.

Representatives of the Kyrgyz Government, headed by PM Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, answered the questions of deputies.

Members of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation identified socio-economic issues, drew attention to the indicators of economic growth in the country. Issues of security, demarcation and delimitation of state borders were raised.

MPs Myktybek Abdyldayev and Iskhak Masaliyev noted that the Kyrgyz Government should conduct more thorough negotiations in the area of demarcation and delimitation of state borders.

Deputy Kurmankul Zulushev raised issue about Kyrgyzstan's rating on the Corruption Perceptions Index, the efficient use of credit and grant funds, regulation of natural gas and gasoline prices, and development of small hydropower plants.

His counterpart Kenjebek Bokoyev touched upon the issue of implementation of administrative and territorial reform in the country, the procedure for appointing regions heads and their reporting at the meeting of the united local councils.

MP Ainuru Altybayeva noted that international ratings have changed in a positive direction. She added the Government of Kyrgyzstan needs to use the country's resources more efficiently, especially in the energy and mining sectors.

Also, members of the Committee on Transport, Communications, Architecture and Construction made a string of comments and suggestions, as well as asked the Government's representatives clarifying questions.

In particular, they touched upon the construction of social facilities, completion of the construction of roads of national importance, fulfillment of the commitments undertaken to supply electricity to Pakistan via Tajikistan and Afghanistan, as well as the need to launch new railways.
