UCA offers 90 beds in Naryn for COVID-19 emergency response

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Central Asia (UCA) has offered facilities for 90 beds on its Naryn campus grounds. These preparations are part of the emergency plan for Naryn (Kyrgyzstan) to mitigate the against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Preparations are underway to build and set up the facilities at UCA’s campus construction offices and sports bubble.

In addition, 500 families identified by the Mayor’s office in the vulnerable category in Naryn, are being provided food and medical supplies by UCA, including masks, hand sanitizers, antibacterial soap, flour, pasta, and cooking oil.

Following a directive from the Government of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to close all schools and universities, classes at the University of Central Asia’s campus in Naryn havealso been temporarily suspended. University staff scrubbed and sanitized the transportation vehicles,distributed face masks and hand sanitizers, and conducted health checks prior to students’ departure from the Naryn campus. UCA’s admission test, which had been scheduled for April 5th, has also been postponed.
