Bishkek, March 15, 2021 / Kabar /. Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov opened the first IT EXPO Connect. KG, held in the format of video conferencing, the press service of the Kyrgyz government reported.
“Over the past years, the development of the IT sector in our country has entered a stormy phase and the need to hold today's event has matured a long time ago. Today we are witnessing the unprecedented development of digital technologies and their impact on economic growth, governance, quality of services, ways of doing business and people's lifestyles, where technology is transforming traditional sectors of the economy, big data is becoming the new digital gold and artificial intelligence is significantly increasing labor productivity,” said Ulukbek Maripov.
The head of Government noted that modern digital infrastructure will create new platforms for interaction between the state, the private sector and citizens. There will be an opportunity for widespread adoption of smart solutions, be it smart cities, smart farms, smart factories or smart transport.
“The leadership of the Kyrgyz Republic is actively working on the adoption of medium-term and long-term strategic documents for the development of the country, in which the IT industry will take a worthy, priority place. Our Hi-Tech Park is a platform for young startups. I am glad to see successful examples of development of initiatives and developers of software and services, as well as our compatriots working in international corporations such as Google, Oracle, Amazon, Cybertek, Twitter,” added the prime minister.
Ulukbek Maripov stressed that in order to stimulate the IT sector by the government of the country, the residents of the Hi-Tech Park are exempted from taxes and payments on insurance premiums for 15 years from the date of creation. In addition, the income tax rate for residents of the organization is only 5%, and insurance premiums are 12%, depending on the size of the average monthly salary throughout the republic. Today, the Hi-Tech Park exports services to more than 30 countries around the world. In this regard, the main goal of the event is to achieve concrete results in the form of creating an effective platform that will attract the necessary international attention to the domestic IT sector,” the head of government said.
“I hope that this event will become an opportunity to achieve concrete results in the form of creating a platform for meeting business entities of the republic in the field of IT technologies and leading foreign IT companies with the conclusion of lucrative contracts,” the prime minister said.
For reference: The Kyrgyz Republic holds such an event for the first time, where participants from all over the world gather, who are leading businessmen, consultants, recognized experts in the IT industry.
