Bishkek, Nov. 23, 2021 . / Kabar / . International brucellosis expert of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Geno Gadjovich visited on Nov. 15-19 the State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.
The visit took place within the framework of the implementation of the Establishment of Animal Health Network in Central Asia FAO project.
"The purpose of the visit is to write a report of a recommendatory nature to improve brucellosis control in the Kyrgyz Republic by adopting a strategy, brucellosis control programs in the country,” the report says.
Thus, during the mission, the FAO expert met with Almaz Sharshenbekov, the director of the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service, as well as with its staff.
The expert also visited Alamedin, Sokuluk regions of Chui Oblast and Ton region of Issyk-Kul Oblast, where he met with veterinary inspectors of Veterinary and Phytosanitary Security Departments, private veterinary practitioners and farmers.
As a result, Geno Gadjovich made a recommendation presentation on improving brucellosis control in the Kyrgyz Republic, where he noted the positive achievements and experience of veterinary specialists and laboratory staff in the fight against brucellosis in the country.
