Bishkek, June 23, 2022. / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, by his Decree, awarded Resident Coordinator of the UN system in the Kyrgyz Republic Ozonnia Ojielo the state award - the Dank Medal for his special merits in organizing international assistance during the global COVID-19 pandemic and contribution to the development of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Cabinet of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov presented the award on behalf of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers expressed gratitude to the UN agencies that have provided the republic with significant assistance in sustainable development, human rights protection, gender equality, development of democratic institutions, strengthening the rule of law, health care, food security, countering terrorism and violent extremism, as well as drug trafficking.
Ozonnia Ojielo, in turn, expressed gratitude to the president of the Kyrgyz Republic for the high state award and said that he would keep in his heart the memory of the people, life and service in Kyrgyzstan.

Ozonnia Ojielo assumed his position as UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic on January 8, 2018.
