Bishkek, July 4, 2018. / Kabar /. 19 new unique objects from around the world are included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The 42nd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee with more than 2,000 participants from 140 countries taking part concludes its work in Manama (Bahrain), under the chairmanship of Shaiha Haya Rashed Al Khalifa.
This year, for the first time, a delegation from Kyrgyzstan also participates as a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
21 Member States of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, who were elected during the General Assembly from 193 countries-participants of the Convention reviewed more than 30 nominations from around the world for inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Of these, 19 new facilities, such as the Palace City of Madina Az-zahra (Spain), Naumburg Cathedral (Germany), Chiribikete National Park - Malagua of the Jaguar Clan (Colombia) are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
In addition, an analysis was made of the state of conservation of 157 sites included on the World Heritage List, including World Heritage sites from Kyrgyzstan, such as the Silk Road: Chang'an-Tien-Shan Corridor Route Network, Western Tien Shan and 54 World Heritage properties under threat.
The next 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee will be held in 2019 in Baku.
