UNFPA transfers PPE to Bishkek health facilities

Bishkek, July 20, 2020. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan’s Health Ministry hosted Monday a ceremony of handing over personal protective equipment by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) under a joint UN project on the basis of the United Nations funds.

According to the press service of the ministry, PPE transferred to all district Family Medicine Centers of Bishkek is designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection.

The package includes protective clothing, medical masks, nitrile gloves, isolating gowns, protective suits, highly filtered surgical respirators, surgical masks, face shields.

This delivery was made possible through a project funded by the UN COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund, which is a UN inter-agency fund mechanism, established by the UN Secretary-General to help support low- and middle-income programme countries overcome the health and development crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and support those most vulnerable to economic hardship and social disruption.
