UNIDO ready to implement projects with Kyrgyzstan to develop aquaculture and fish farming

Bishkek, July 17, 2022 . / Kabar / . Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to international organizations in Vienna Tolendy Makeyev held a meeting with Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Gerd Mueller.

The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, current issues of practical cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with UNIDO were discussed.

The main attention was paid to the development of the Country Partnership Program (CPP) of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the readiness of Kyrgyz Government to proceed with the assistance of UNIDO to jointly mobilize the necessary financial resources by signing the Cooperation Program, the launch of which will allow the implementation of various projects in such priority areas as energy, light industry, construction and agro-industry, tourism.

The UNIDO director general noted that he attaches great importance to the early signing of the Cooperation Program with the Kyrgyz Republic, showing particular interest in the joint implementation of projects for the development of aquaculture and fish farming.

At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to continue cooperation in these areas and deepen practical cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNIDO.

Makeyev also invited Gerd Mueller to pay an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
