Bishkek, Apr. 10, 2019 / Kabar /. A unique flower Aigul (“Ai” in Kyrgyz means moon, “gul” - flower) bloomed in Batken oblast of Kyrgyzstan, on the territory of the state Aigul-Tash botanical reserve, the press service of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (SAEPF) reported.
Aigul flower grows on the slopes of only one mountain Aigul-Tash. This rocky mountain is located about 17 km from Batken town.
Every year in early April, the first buds of this unique flower are revealed on the territory of the Aigul-Tash botanical reserve. The mass period of its flowering begins on April 12 and lasts only for two weeks, more precisely, until April 28, causing excitement to others. Therefore, it is not for nothing that the people say that those who saw the first Aigul flower blooming will be infinitely happy.
The SAEPF intends to install video surveillance to attract violators to a fine for plucking the Aigul flower in order to preserve and expand the growing area of the unique flower listed in the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan.
The total area of the state Aigul-Tash reserve is 253.9 hectares. The Aigul flower was listed in the Red Book of the USSR in 1978, and in 2004 - in the Red Book of Kyrgyzstan.
