Bishkek, Oct. 25, 2018. /Kabar/. 17 companies of Uzbekistan are ready to export potatoes from Kyrgyzstan, Erkinbek Choduyev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Melioration told at a press conference at the Kabar News Agency.
He said that work on the supply of potatoes with Uzbekistan had been carried out well.
“But from May 2, 2018, Uzbekistan announced that it will import only seed potatoes. On this occasion, negotiations were held in Dushanbe at the level of prime ministers and ministers. In addition, we work with the government of Uzbekistan. our department director was in Tashkent for 3-4 days. 17 companies in Uzbekistan gave us a clear answer that they would import potatoes. In turn, our side provided information on the number of potatoes in the country,” he explained.
Choduev stressed that today negotiations are underway to export potatoes to Turkmenistan.
“We are working with the embassy of this country to discuss this issue,” he added.
