Tashkent, Feb.6, 2020. /Kabar/. By his Presidential Decree, Uzbekistan’s leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev has pardoned 58 citizens serving a sentence who committed a crime in the ignorance, the UzA News Agency reported.
Detainees who have already sincerely repented of their crimes and firmly embarked on the path of correction have been pardoned by Mirziyoyev.
Among those pardoned, two are women.
“This event is a practical embodiment of the policy of humanism in Uzbekistan, as well as such noble qualities of the Uzbek people as generosity, condescension, nobility and mercy,” the report says.
Responsible ministries and departments have been tasked to assist the pardoned in returning to family and relatives, as well as social adaptation.
