Bishkek, Sept. 4, 2017. /Kabar/. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will arrive in Kyrgyzstan on Sept. 5-6 for the first time for a state visit, Aizada Subakozhoeva, the chief of the foreign policy department of the Kyrgyz President’s Office reported.
She said that within the framework of the visit, meetings in a narrow and extended format between the two presidents are planned.
"In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will meet with Prime Minister and Speaker of the Kyrgyz Parliament. Within the framework of the visit, a number of interdepartmental documents will be signed. The main final political document between the two heads of state will be an adoption of a joint statement, which will reflect the intentions and specific plans of the parties to further develop cooperation between the two sides," she said.
The last official visit of the President of Uzbekistan (Islam Karimov) was in 2000. Then the head of the neighboring state came to Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the working visits of the SCO and the CSTO.
