Tashkent, Dec. 20, 2021 . / Kabar /. No New Year parties will be held at Uzbek public schools this year. That decision, "for the safety of children and to prevent various fundraisers," was made by the Ministry of Public Education, based on a protocol of the National Commission to Combat Coronavirus.
The order of the ministry banned "any illegal collection of money from parents" to hold events related to the New Year's holiday, the press service of the Ministry of Public Education said.
In addition, it is forbidden to decorate classrooms and school foyers with artificial New Year trees and electric lights (except for handmade decorations made by students).
Festivities may be held in elementary schools in their own classrooms with the participation of parents and observance of quarantine restrictions. Meanwhile, these activities should not interfere with the educational process.
Restrictions on New Year parties were also imposed last year. Then the celebration in elementary schools was banned.
