Uzbekistan becomes leader of economic growth in Europe and Central Asia

GDP growth among 23 economies in Europe and Central Asian region in 2023 will reach maximum values in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan - 5.1% and 6.5%, respectively, Centralasianlight.org reports.

Overall, economic growth in Europe and Central Asian region will increase to 1.4% in 2023, according to a World Bank report.

The World Bank predicts that in 2024 and 2025 the economy of Uzbekistan will grow by 5.4% and 5.8%, respectively.

Earlier, the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan reported that in the first quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan's GDP amounted to 198.4 trillion soums, an increase of 5.5% compared to the same period last year.

The volume of GDP per capita amounted to 5.5 million soums. In January-March 2022, the indicator was at the level of 4.7 million soums.
