Tashkent, Feb. 24, 2022 . / Kabar /. Since March 1 this year, medical masks are canceled in Uzbekistan in open spaces. This is stated in a decision of the Special Republican Commission for the fight against coronavirus, the press service of the republic’s Health Ministry said.
The reason for such measures is the decrease in the incidence of COVID-19 in Uzbekistan.
However, it is still recommended to wear masks on public transport, in markets and shopping centers, in educational institutions, mosques, theaters, cinemas, museums, palaces of art, public services and other places of mass gathering of people.
Employers are instructed to ensure that the level of vaccination of employees against coronavirus infection, including with a booster dose, is not less than 90%.
If it is found that employees of government agencies, business entities and other organizations are not vaccinated against coronavirus infection, including in booster doses, they will be temporarily suspended from work.
The prevalence of the disease in Uzbekistan is 0.4. World Health Organization experts consider the situation when this indicator does not exceed 1.0 to be stable.
