Uzbekistan confirms 39 more COVID-19 cases, bringing total to 2,691

Tashkent, May 16, 2020. /Kabar/. As of 10:00 a.m. May 16, Uzbekistan’s total coronavirus case tally has reached 2,691, the press service of the country’s Health Ministry reported.

39 more cases of novel coronavirus have been revealed in the past 24 hours, 22 patients have recovered and transferred to rehabilitation.

Starting May 8, Uzbekistan introduced color quarantine levels - "red" (high), "yellow" (medium) and "green" (low) - based on an assessment of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country's regions.

The quarantine in the country has been extended until June 1. From May 18, a gradual easing of measures taken in connection with the coronovirus pandemic will begin.

Currently, the total number of coronavirus cases in Uzbekistan is 2,691, and the number of recoveries is 2,158; 11 patients have died.

522 patients are undergoing treatment, condition of 8 of them is assessed as serious.
