Uzbekistan increases excise tax on alcohol, tobacco and compressed gas

Tashkent, July 24, 2019. /Kabar/. Excise tax rates on alcohol and tobacco, as well as compressed gas, are increasing in Uzbekistan. This is provided for the relevant decree of President of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Justice said.

In accordance with the document, from Aug. 15, 2019, the excise tax rate on sales of compressed gas to end users increased by 20%, from Oct. 1, 2019 for alcoholic beverages - on average of 10%, for tobacco products - by 20%.

Also, the validity period of the previously issued licenses for the production of alcohol and alcoholic beverages has been extended until Jan. 1, 2020.
