Uzbekistan intends to attract 1.7 mln foreign tourists in 2021

Tashkent, Dec. 29, 2020. /Kabar/. In 2021, it is planned to attract 1.7 million foreign and 7.5 million local tourists to Uzbekistan and to increase exports of tourist services up to USD 370 million. This is stipulated in the draft decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for further development of pilgrimage tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the creation of favorable conditions for pilgrims," the press service of the Uzbek State Tourism Committee said.

According to the document, creation of favorable environment for accelerated recovery provided to business entities in 2020 in connection with the spread of pandemic coronavirus provides for continuation in 2021.

In particular, the income tax rate is reduced by 50% compared to the established rate. Properties of individuals specializing in the provision of accommodation services are exempt from payment of land tax levied on individuals and property tax on individuals, as well as ceases to apply penalties for overdue accounts receivable on foreign trade transactions.

Tasks are set to attract 700 thousand pilgrims, using the potential of pilgrimage tourism in the country and ensure the export of services in this area to the amount of USD 130 million.
