Tashkent, Jan.29, 2020. /Kabar/. This year it is planned to attract $5.8 billion of direct foreign investments to the economy of Uzbekistan. This became known at the meeting on preparation of Tashkent International Investment Forum, UzA news agency reported.
The meeting was chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Uzbek leader ordered the Forum to be held at a high organizational level in early March.
In particular, the Foreign Ministry is mandated with invitation of representatives of leading foreign companies, international financial institutions and media to the Forum.
Last year, the volume of direct foreign investments in Uzbekistan made up $4.2 billion, which is $3.1 billion, or 3.7 times more than in 2018.
