Uzbekistan introduces temporary ban on oil exports

Tashkent, June 2, 2022. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan imposed a temporary ban on the export of certain products outside the customs territory of the country, Narodnoe Slovo parliamentary newspaper reported.

From June 1, exports of following products are banned:

- vegetable oil, including cotton and sunflower oil. Exceptions are provided for valid contracts for which prepayments were made before June 1;

- sunflower seeds, as well as seeds and fruits of other oil-bearing plants, except in cases established by law.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan is given the right to resume exports of these goods if there is sufficient volume in the domestic market.

Until Jan.1, 2023, the order of mandatory labeling in the state language of food products imported into Uzbekistan is temporarily suspended.
