Tashkent, May 7, 2020. /Kabar/. The Special Republican Commission to combat COVID-19 coronavirus infection had decided to introduce a distinction of zones depending on the epidemiological situation, the press service of the Uzbek Health Ministry reported.
Thus, starting May 8, one of the three levels of quarantine - "red," "yellow," or "green" - will become operational in regions of Uzbekistan.
However, in all regions, regardless of the quarantine level, a number of previously introduced requirements and restrictions will remain, especially observance of social distancing and prohibition of mass events.
Eight regions - Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Namangan, Fergana, Samarkand, Bukhara, Syrdarya and Tashkent are included in "red" danger COVID-19 zone.
A "green" (low) level of danger has been declared in Navoiy, Qashqadaryo and Jizzakh Regions.
Third, "yellow" level of danger has been preserved in Surkhandarya and Khorezm Regions, as well as in the capital city of Tashkent.
In regions with "green" and "yellow" quarantine levels, service taxis, hairdressing salons and beauty salons, as well as shopping malls can restore their work, subject to sanitary and hygiene and generally accepted quarantine security measures.
On May 5 Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said the country's epidemiological situation has stabilized, and suggested preparing a plan to break out of isolation.
To date, Uzbekistan has 2 thousand 233 COVID-19 infections, 1 thousand 577 of them have cured, and 10 have died.
