Uzbekistan launches mobile app warning of contact with coronavirus patient

Tashkent, July 17, 2020. /Kabar/. Uzbekistan’s Health Ministry, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications and the Tashkent city administration have launched the Self-Safety mobile application, which will warn users about possible contacts with coronavirus infected people.

According to the press service of the Health Ministry, the program requires constant activation of GPS and Bluetooth. If one of the users has been confirmed to have coronavirus, the application will compare the intersection points with other users within a 5 m radius in one a minute.

Then all those who have this application installed will receive a push notification about possible contact with an infected person and recommendations for further actions.

The app is expected to appear Google Play and App Store soon.
